Sacred Images in Russian Icons

The first icon has arisen as the imprint on towel the face of Jesus Christ . Jesus has washed His face and then has dried It by towel. The towel with a not man-made Face also became the first Christian icon - "Our Saviour, Not made by human hand". In Russia and also in Ukraine icons of  Our Lady of  Vladimir, Kazan and Iver with the Child Christ on Her hands are especially honoured.
Images of St.Andrey Pervozvanniy , the Patron of Rus - Ukraine State, Archangel Michael, the Patron of ancient Russian cities Kiev and Lvov, and also Russian first princes - Christians St.Olga and St.Vladimir are esteemed also. Icon of Kasper's Virgin is the Patroness of Odessa city. In the port city Odessa also is esteemed the icon of St. Nikolay , the Patron of seamen and travellers. With the big awe of believers used the icons of St. Peter, St.Paul, St.Panteleimon and other Christian Sacred Persons.
